It’s a wrap for the 2015 edition of ubi i/o! Our CEOs made their farewells and left the United States to go back to France. No worries, we will soon be providing you with a comprehensive recap of these 10 amazing weeks!
Today, we’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who made this incredible entrepreneurial and human adventure possible. Our sponsors, our partners, our jury, our mentors, our workshop speakers, our friends, our panelists and everyone who came to our events to discover, meet and connect with the ubi i/o companies!
These 8 startups … well let’s talk about our experiences with them for a minute. For 10 weeks you were all a part of the office’s life and managed to influence our culture in so many ways. It’s fair to say we all came out exhausted after this intense program; our nights were short and our days everlasting. We worked hard together, sharing successes and struggles while never forgetting to celebrate your achievements. It was a true pleasure to work with you all; we’re looking forward to seeing your growth in the U.S! As a member of Business France’s team, I, your fellow writer, would like extend a huge thank you to all my colleagues who worked tirelessly on this program while managing to create a cool atmosphere.
ubi i/o Demo Day

We hosted our grand finale on the evening of Tuesday June 30th, a last opportunity for everyone in the Valley to see our entrepreneurs altogether. We were honored to host Chris Yeh as our keynote speaker. Chris spoke about some of the history of SV and shared with us some of the key factors that can help a startup be successful; he underlined the importance of execution and the ability to scale quickly. Our entrepreneurs then delivered their last pitch as ubi i/o participants in front of our guests, including Page Alloo & Laura Elmore our marketing / pitch coaches who have been training them since the beginning of the program.
We’ll admit it, it was an emotional ceremony, we were proud to offer our CEOs a class photo as well as an alumni t-shirt symbolizing their graduation. Afterwards, everyone moved to the amazing Quadrus Conference Center deck where our companies held demo pods. It was once again a great networking event; we were spoiled with some French wine and some delicious catering. We even got to witness a live demo of HEXO+!
This was also the time to say goodbye to some of our entrepreneurs who left our offices no later than the day after. ubi i/o’s class of 2015 has been stellar to say the least and we were proud to be part of this adventure with you. What’s next for us? ubi i/o 2016 of course! We’re already working hard on it, and there’s a lot more to come. We’ll be in touch soon enough. French startups, the time for applications will come faster than you think. Enjoy your summer and stay tuned!
