Following an intense week 6, ubi i/o’s 7th week is in the books.
World Cup Tech Challenge: the aftermath
If we are to remember one thing, it’s the impressive team spirit showcased by ubi i/o entrepreneurs throughout the World Cup Tech challenge. As everyone cheered on Evercontact, Philippe delivered one of his sharpest pitching performances yet. After their appearances on stage, ubi i/o companies (Evercontact, Adways & HEXO+) received a lot of attention and Evercontact was featured on one of Guy Kawasaki‘s webinars! The truth is, France is becoming a striking force in the world of new tech and our presence is both felt and remembered at all the events we attend to.

On another positive note, Pradeo just announced on Thursday a new strategic partnership with AirWatch, the world’s leading mobile security and enterprise mobility management provider.
Pitch well, pitch right.
Listen, practice, and iterate … do you remember? Well after last week’s workshop on how to raise money in the U.S, our companies had two opportunities to once again showcase their skills.
On Thursday, 4 ubi i/o startups were selected to pitch at VC TaskForce. Evercontact, Giroptic, HEXO+ and TellMePlus had 2 minutes to present their product, their vision, and their business model. Despite the complexities of their technologies, our entrepreneurs managed to give crystal clear presentation and received positive feedback from the panel. Once again, ubi i/o CEOs found themselves in the top ranks! HEXO+ and Evercontact were ranked first and second respectively.

These accomplishments worth celebrating were followed by Friday’s insightful workshop. Two VCs gave their precious time to listen to our companies’ pitches. T.M Ravi, Founder & Managing Director @ The Hive and Steven Schlenker, Managing Partner @ DN Capital listened and reviewed our entrepreneur’s presentations and challenged them with a Q&A session. This exercise gave ubi i/o participants strong clues on what they needed to fine tune to get the perfect pitch and tailor their approach to VCs. Both Steve and T.M shared their enthusiasm toward this year’s class and told us they were already looking forward to the 2016 batch.
Getting closer to the Grand Finale
We will soon be closing down on ubi i/o’s last weeks with a few events left to go. Don’t miss out on them! They will be your last opportunities to see our 8 ubi i/o companies altogether.
