This is it! The 2016 edition of ubi i/o starts in less than a week. A lot has already been checked off our startups’ the to do list since our boot camp in Paris. During the first days of the program, our marketing expert Laura Elmore will be coaching our CEOs on how to properly deliver a pitch the American way: quick & high impact elevator pitches that last anywhere between 2 to 8 minutes. With this preparatory work, the 2015 batch won several pitch competitions and we certainly hope this year’s class will do even better.
Throughout the program, each startup will have a dedicated Trade Advisor whose sole focus will be to help them execute their U.S. strategy. The positioning work done back in Paris has already paid off as multiple business meetings are already aligned for our participants. Things are only going to get more intense throughout the upcoming weeks, thanks to the comprehensive program we’ve designed for them.
One of the many objectives of ubi i/o is to help our entrepreneurs adapt to their local ecosystem’s culture. Throughout week 1, we’ve organized several casual business breakfasts to give our CEOs the opportunity to meet successful entrepreneurs. Christophe Menard, Chief Programmatic Officer & Founder @Sublime Skinz and Loic Moisand, CEO @Synthesio will be coming in to talk about how they succeeded in establishing themselves on the east coast. On the west coast, Reza Malekzadeh, a serial entrepreneur & startup advisor will be our guest for the first breakfast.
Another goal of the program is to help our companies gain quick actionable insights on various topics related to their growth. To do so, we’ve organized a variety of workshops that will hit specific topics such as:
-How to Protect Your IP
-Setting up and Deploying U.S. Operations
-Demand Generation 101
-How to Raise Funds: Strategy, Funding and Valuation
The ubi i/o program sets the bar high on expectations. If our CEOs aren’t occupied with workshops featuring industry experts, they are handling business meetings with potential clients or partners. At night, you’ll find them pitching to investors throughout their respective cities. If you’d like to see the startups pitch, please join us at our first pitch event hosted by PitchFroce on April 28th in San Francisco. For New Yorkers, our 8 startups will be showcasing their product at TechCrunch Disrupt on May 11th.
We hope to see you along the way! Let ubi i/o begin!
