Last week, the ubi i/o participants deepened their VC pitch skills via two special events.
The first, our weekly workshop continued the prior week’s VC theme, and focused on “How to Pitch to VCs” (here is the video of the prior week’s workshop on VC fundraising: http://www.impact-north-america.com/podcast-workshop-how-to-raise-vc-funding/ ).
For this week, the ubi i/o UBIFRANCE team changed the format to focus on individual discussions with the panelists, TM Ravi, Founder @ The Hive and Denis Barrier, Partner @ Iris Capital. Ravi and Denis gave each startup vital feedback following their 8 min pitch.
The workshop ended with a general group wrap-up session where TM Ravi and Denis Barrier discussed common pitch mistakes and best practices.

On Thursday evening, two of our promising startups participated in VC Taskforce’s Angel Elevator Pitch. ContractLive and SublimeSkinz were selected to present their two-minute elevator pitch to a panel of business angels. The panelists were: Chris Crump of Sand Hill Angels, Cathy Chiu from the Berkeley Angel Network, and Assim Gupta, angel member of the Keiretsu Forum.
Each pitch was followed by 4 minutes of Q&A and 4 minutes of non-rebuttal feedback from each panelist. In addition to the pitch practice, Angel Elevator Pitch presented a great opportunity for our entrepreneurs to network with business angels and CXOs and learn how to raise early-stage capital. The ubi i/o team came out in full force to support Mathieu Lhoumeau @ ContractLive and Jerem Febvre & Jean-Marc Pericone @ SublimeSkinz.
