Last week was punctuated by two events here at ubi i/o’s San Francisco headquarters.
The first was hosted by our sponsor French Tech Hub. On Tuesday morning, Xavier Wartelle, CEO @French Tech Hub welcomed our startups for a workshop on the topic “Start Your US Subsidiary and Operations.”
The attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the French Tech Hub, and its domiciliation, subsidiary creation, immigration, employee set-up, accounting, payroll, and working desk services. The startups also exchanged with Xavier Wartelle regarding their upcoming individual milestones and got his input on the process of setting up their US operations.

Later that same day, the ubi i/o startups participated in an event was organised by ubi i/o in partnership with Silicon Valley Bank, the largest US commercial bank for VCs and tech companies. SV Bank invited a fantastic panel of VCs chosen specifically for the occasion.
Our participants put into practice the advice they received a couple of weeks ago during our “How to Pitch to VCs” workshop and illustrated in their pitches the problem solved, the market opportunity, their market strategy, their technology, their differentiation, their team, and of course all of the financial aspects such as funding requirements and milestones.

The 5 minute pitch was followed by a 5 minutes of Q&A from the panel of investors and the audience. The participants received great advice from the panel and feedback from the entire audience during the networking cocktail that followed.
Thank you very much to French Tech Hub and to Silicon Valley Bank for their involvement in ubi i/o.
