Week 4: Recap

It’s been four weeks since the  ubi i/o 8 took their first steps in Silicon Valley, and they are just as excited now as they were on  Day 1. They have already covered a lot of ground in exploring opportunities and making key connections.

So, just like all the other program weeks before, the participants have had another extremely busy week.

In addition to the daily meetings with potential partners/clients, the companies learned more about the immigration process and got a feel for the Bay Area’s real estate market during 1-on-1 meetings with immigration lawyers and a real estate agents.

That same day, @Tradelab @VadeRetro and @SublimeSkinz were invited to pitch at SFNewTech, hosted at Mighty in the emerging SOMISSPO district of SF.  After the happy hour networking session (featuring tacos – YUM!), the 3 companies showcased their solutions on stage with live demos in front of a crowd of tech-minded founders, engineers, investors, and media.

On Thursday, the ubi i/o participants attended a special event hosted by while42 and French company Sensiolabs @ Kwarter’s SF headquarters. They shared a friendly moment with the members of While42, a network of French engineers with more than 30 chapters worldwide, and a main player of the local “French Mafia”.

The Startup Tech Mixer party took place on Friday evening at the W Hotel. Our participants were featured at demo tables and connected with approximately 1000 Tech Mixer guest technophiles including CEOs, founders, developers, and engineers. Not a bad way to wrap up the week!
